I always get a little overwhelmed when I shop for anti-aging skincare products. There are so many options and promises out there (often with exorbitantly high price tags too) it’s hard to know what’s worth it and what really works. That’s why I was thrilled when Olay contacted me about their Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. An independent test by the Good Housekeeping Institute showed that Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream outperformed 10 top prestige creams, including one with a $440 price tag. With findings like that and a double recommendation from my mom who has been using this anti-aging cream for a while now and swears by it, you know I just had to give it a try.
Before I go into my thoughts about using Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, let me fill you in on a little backstory. A few years ago, around the time I turned thirty, I started noticing a few faint little lines right under my eyes. They weren’t overtly obvious but I’m not gonna lie, I was a little bit alarmed nonetheless! The thing that irked me the most was that every time I used concealer under my eyes within an hour or so the concealer would settle and crease into my lines. At first, I thought it was the type of concealer I was using but after trying out every kind of concealer under the sun, I realized it wasn’t the concealer at all. It was those pesky lines!
As soon as I got Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream in the mail, I was excited to try it out and to find out if it will work to erase those lines. The first thing I noticed straight away was its lightweight texture. Some anti-aging skin creams tend to be too thick and greasy for my combination/oily skin, but I was pleasantly surprised that Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream absorbed rather quickly. I love how it makes my skin feel silky smooth. Don’t let it’s lightweight consistency fool you though. This skin cream was definitely still rich enough to moisturize the dry areas of my face. Every morning and night, I massage the cream onto my face and neck after cleansing and putting on a serum. I then dab a small amount using my ring finger around my delicate eye area.
Hydration and Anti-Aging Prevention
Hydration is very important as the first step for preventative anti-aging measures because hydrating moisturizers keep the skin plump and supple, which are the characteristics of a youthful complexion. Olay Rengenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream has powerhouse moisturizing ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid (a powerful humectant), niacinamide (an ingredient that boosts cell turnover and maintains the skin’s moisture barrier), and pathenol or vitamin B5 (which soothes and moisturizes skin). The key takeaway of the Good Housekeeping Institute study I mentioned earlier is the fact that women don’t need to spend a ton on skincare to achieve younger-looking skin. With Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream we can get effective anti-aging results without paying a premium.
At the time of writing this post, I’ve only been using Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream a few days. Olay claims you can see visible wrinkle results starting from day 1, which in my experience is absolutely true. Just take a look at my before and after photos. In my before shot, you can clearly see my concealer crease in the lines under my eyes. In the after shot, the lines have disappeared and so has the creasing! Plus, my skin feels healthy and hydrated.
