Sophie Theallet’s Mod & Retro Aristocratic Family

I just love Sophie Theallet’s Fall 2012 collection. Her ready to wear line is not only mod and retro chic but it’s got an adorable narrative to it as well. Check out this excerpt from Women’s Wear Daily online and just try not falling in love with her vintage inspired collection.

‘For fall, Sophie Theallet envisioned a family of aristocrats who lost their fortune and stopped maintaining their castle. “They still look beautiful and continue to live an elegant life,” Theallet said during a preview. The idea translated into a faded notion of glamour — as if Theallet’s woman was pulling looks from her closet, like a brown knit turtleneck tucked under a black cocktail dress, and a draped Swiss-dot dress cinched at the waist, all of which had a slightly vintage feel. She drove the theme home with an ornamental, brocadelike pattern in various color combinations, which could also work well as a chic wallpaper — perhaps the one in her protagonist’s grand, run-down home.’

‘Chic wallpaper’? Yes. Chic outfits? Yes yes.

I don’t know about you, but I’d love to raid this aristocrat’s closet!

Check out the brogue high heel shoes. Aren’t they adorable?
