I was in Zara a few days ago and noticed something I was really excited about in their fall collection. Aside from the on trend check blazers (love!), feminine lace tops, and you-can-never-have-too-many leather jackets, there were hints of asian inspiration hung from one rack to another. Sprinkled around the shop floor was a spattering of exotic floral print suits, numerous embroidered kimonos (another love!), and sumptuous, shiny jacquard. As a lover of the east meets west look, I couldn’t get enough!
Coincidentally on the very day I was in Zara, I was wearing this vintage satin brocade jacket I got from a thrift shop in London some time ago. Honestly, I didn’t even think it was back “in fashion” when I threw it on. That’s the great thing about shopping vintage—it can never go out of style! Top tip: If you find yourself abroad for a few days, check out their thrift shops. Chances are you’ll find some real one of a kind gems, vintage or otherwise, because fashion favorites differ from country to country.
ABOUT THIS LOOK
I paired my jacket with a soft tee I got from H&M over the summer. The ‘Taco Me Out’ graphic could not be more perfect for my east meets west look, although I’d be lying if I said I planned it that way. Some things just fall into place serendipitously. If you ask me, those are the best type of outfits!
So tell me, what are your favorite trends for fall?
